This American actress was born on September 26, 1981 in Jersey City to Afro-Cuban parents, Don and Carmen. She shares her birthday with the tennis star Serena Williams. Christina Milian has two younger sisters, Dannielle and Elizabeth. Christina’s birth name was Christine Flores. She attended Matthew Henson Middle School in Indian Head, Maryland and graduated from Westlake High School in Waldorf, Maryland. Christina Milian can converse comfortably in English and Spanish. Her mother has always been a major support to her and now manages her career.

She set foot in the entertainment industry at the early age of four. Before moving to Los Angeles at the age of 13 she played the lead role in the musical “Annie” and also did Wendy’s and Honeycombs commercials. Christina Milian draws her musical inspiration from Janet Jackson, Celia Cruz and Gloria Estefan and confesses about being a huge fan of Janet Jackson. She gained worldwide popularity in 2000 with her girlish vocals showcased on Ja Rule’s #1 hit “Between Me and You”. Christina’s first significant role was in 1998 on the Disney’s Channel’s Movie Surfers as a reporter. Simultaneously with this role she also appeared in the movies A Bug’s Life and American Pie in a minor role. The television series Charmed, Cluless, Get Real, The Amanda Show and The Steve Harvey Show saw her in guest appearances.

After the huge success of “AM to PM” Christina Milian was loved even by fans who did not know English. With this her childhood dream to be a superstar had actually come true. She became a well known face and had become popular across territories. Christina’s blessings extended from her music ventures towards a flourishing acting career. She knocked to host MTV’s widely popular “Wannabes” in 2002. During one of its episode she met director Joseph Khan and ended up on a role in his highly-anticipated feature film Torque opposite Ice Cube. Later she also landed up in a lead role opposite Nick Cannon in Love Don’t Cost a Thing. Next she grabbed a lead role in Cheer Up opposite Tommy Lee Hones which set her stars to rise in the silver screen. But her success in movies did not diminish her passion for music. Christina Milian continues to be enthusiastic about making music.

Her album “It’s about Time” took a long time to be released domestically but gathered positive reviews when released on July 13, 2004. The album debuted at #21 in UK and #14 on the Billboard 200 album chart and ended up selling 36,000 copies in the first week. The album came into notice after the Grammy nomination for “Best Contemporary R&B Album” in 2005. Christina Milian currently has a long list of movies lined up for release in 2007.
